Collection: Facade Grade ThermaCork
Facade grade cork is specified when expanded cork insulation will remain exposed as the finished exterior surface of a building. In these applications, the cork functions as both continuous insulation and exterior cladding, and must meet higher performance requirements for weather exposure, dimensional stability, and long-term durability.
Manufactured from expanded cork granules without added binders, facade grade cork is naturally vapor open, moisture resilient, and resistant to rot, pests, and mold. When detailed correctly, exposed cork facades perform well in a range of climates while supporting hygrothermal balance and long service life.
Facade grade cork is commonly used in high-performance and Passive House–informed buildings where material simplicity, durability, and low embodied impact are priorities. Products such as ThermaCork facade-grade panels are selected based on exposure conditions, fastening strategy, and detailing requirements. Small Planet Supply helps builders and designers confirm when facade grade cork is appropriate and how to detail it so the exposed assembly performs as intended over time.
