Collection: Standard Grade ThermaCork
Standard grade expanded cork insulation is specified when cork is used as a continuous insulation layer within the building envelope and is not intended to remain exposed. In these applications, the cork is protected by cladding, roofing, or other exterior finishes and does not need to meet the additional performance requirements associated with direct weather exposure.
Manufactured from expanded cork granules without added binders, standard grade cork remains vapor open, moisture resilient, and dimensionally stable, making it well suited for high-performance wall, roof, and floor assemblies. It contributes to thermal performance while supporting hygrothermal balance and long-term durability when integrated into a complete envelope system.
Products such as ThermaCork standard grade panels are commonly used in Passive House–informed and low-energy construction where material simplicity, natural insulation, and system compatibility are priorities. Small Planet Supply helps builders and designers confirm appropriate thicknesses, fastening strategies, and assembly placement so standard grade cork performs as intended over the life of the building.
